Boiling Hot

The effectual fervent prayer* that sounds fancy like I would say to some of my Sunday School students when there is a harder word to understand in the bible. For so long I have been reading this verse not really knowing what the word fervent meant.

Fervent in the strong's concordance: This speaks of great energy to the point of boiling hot. ( Barbara Billet)

WOW!! boiling hot one of my favorite verses in the bible talks about not being lukewarm but either be HOT or COLD.

Revelation 3:15-16 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

I really never thought of my prayer life being lukewarm. I did think of my faith walk as being middle ground and comfortable sometimes which I know is not right.

That verse in James talks about us praying boiling hot prayers that is not lukewarm by any means. That those types of prayers make the most impact and difference. Yes, I have been known to nod off in prayer some evenings before going to bed. I don't want to continue that route. I feel the most empowered praying when I pray in tongues when I'm in tune with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides me on what to pray for. I feel like things are bubbling up in my spirit.

God wants to empower us.

He does not want us to feel weak and defeated when we pray.

In Him we are victorious.

I want my prayers to be like that. To consume whatever should not be in the way.

Prayer that awakens me and does not put me to sleep.

Lord help my prayer life be like that today.
