Burn the Plow

"So Elisha left him and went back. He took his yoke of oxen and slaughtered them. He burned the plowing equipment to cook the meat and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he set out to follow Elijah and became his servant. "1 Kings 12:23

"I don't understand why you are moving to Asia. Are you keeping your apartment and car in case things don't work out?"

My response: " God told me to trust Him. To fully do that I don't need a backup plan. He has got me and will take care of me. "

Many people say that isn't wise or I am crazy. I have found that if there is no way out, no other way... that is when I fully trust in God and I want to live that daily. If in the back of my mind there is a way out (Comfort zone / Man-made security) it will stop me from growing in my faith. When I travel to another country and don't have a clue what will happen and I've been placed in impossible situations those moments are my favorite.

The only way for me to make it through is Jesus.

I want my dependence to be fully on Him not on the things of this world.

Not on how much money I have in my bank account.

Not on how many people I know will step in and help me.

So daily I will choose not to cling to the things of this world.

Is there a plow in your life that God is asking you to burn down?

It's a Meaningful Life -Day 1 (Ps. Wayne Boersma)
