Pillar People

Today's confession: I don't really enjoy asking people to volunteer.

Asking people to volunteer is a good thing

Now it has been made clear that serving is a training ground. When we ask others to volunteer we are giving them an opportunity to grow not only to step into their giftings but to become pillars in the Church. They are the ones that stick and get stuff done (that stuff that everyone complains about). They are always willing to get their hands dirty. We don't start as pillars, we become pillars.

"As a result, our identity becomes refined our character improves and we can lead well " (Paraphrased Pst. Renee)

"A pillar is a person or thing regarded as reliably providing essential support for something." (Oxford languages-dictionary)

Pillar People are who we become, they are the ones we want in our ministries.

"Never give power to those who don't share your values."

(Step # 2 of The Practical Steps to Empower Others on Your Team by Andy Stanley)

Signs that they don't share your values:

-They want to use all our hard work for their own benefit.

-They are the ones who say "I want to preach" "I want the church to support me as a missionary."

Yet they aren't attending Church consistently. They aren't tithing or willing to serve.

They think " If I serve what's is in it for me."

-When you want to move ahead as a Church they cause disunity.

Don't give them the place they are asking for/ looking for. Don't allow them to share your platform until they are willing to be trained and to serve. Their character has to be proven.

"Talent brings us to the top but it's our character that keeps us there."-Pst Renee

We are human and we all make mistakes. It's time, God is calling us higher.

He is calling us to be pillar people.
