STAND, THEREFORE!

"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes."

-Ephesians 6:11

To stand is to vigorously oppose, resist while standing face to face. Standing your ground with the authority you have against the enemy. (Barbara Billet researched the defintion)

When I was younger & afraid at night, I would call out for my mom and she would come to pray with me. She would always say and have me repeat " God has not given me a spirit of fear

but of power love and a sound mind." She told me to repeat it until I believed it.

At times we had to declare it pretty loudly so that I would believe what I was saying. We would pray in tongues together until we felt the darkness lift. At the time I didn't think much of it except that I thought my mom was a pretty cool prayer warrior chopping off demons heads and stuff.

15 Years Later...

I went on my first solo mission trip to Mexico. I was staying by myself in an under-construction dormitory. I arrived late at night everything was so dark, I felt like I wasn't alone in the room. I saw these demon heads spin around me. It felt like something was clutching my throat preventing me from breathing properly, my whole body was in excruciating pain. This was an attack the devil was out to steal kill and destroy. I felt in my spirit just say and think the word Jesus! Instead of crumbling to the ground in pain, I stood tall and straight. I began to say Jesus and bit by bit the grip on my neck became weaker. So I said it louder and louder and began to pray in tongues.

What my mom taught me came back up in me so I said it allowed " God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power love and a sound mind." The weight and the pain lifted off.

I felt God tell me afterward "The enemy's intention was to kill you but you stood your ground.

You trusted Me and declared My promises.

Words have power. Be equipped and ready. STAND, THEREFORE!

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
