“As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.” 1 Kings 17:12

How can we still reach out to people in the midst of a pandemic? It's simple we just do.

I think I have a handful of flour or a little olive oil at the very least.

My brain went into problem-solving mode because we were not able to meet on Sunday mornings anymore. My focus became staying connected with the parents that were suddenly out of work and the children that had to be pulled out of school .

So I started making kits for the kids full of activities and bible lessons, fun things for them to do together as a family. I dressed up in a mascot outfit and made special deliveries to their doorsteps. It energized me and made me realize that I had grown stagnant. I had stopped pouring out and giving my all. That needed to change, and it began to change me.

And now the connection with the families in our community has grown tremendously. It started with stepping out, trying new things & not letting fear of failure stand in the way of God's plan.

I pray that this story encourages you today.

What's in your hand? No matter what I'm going to make this work.
